Aya Zirikly

Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, George Washington University

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP), Johns Hopkins University

My research sits at the intersection of Natural Language Processing (NLP), mental health, healthcare, bias, and alignment. I focus on building computational systems and AI models that can understand clinical and social-media language to address critical challenges in mental health and health — including suicide risk assessment, depression identification, and improving patient experience by building patient-centered solutions. I also work on AI alignment and debiasing to ensure that NLP systems are fair, trustworthy, and equitable across communities.

You will find me under Aya & Ayah, movign onward I am only using Aya.
